 María-José Ayuso is a vibrant science-artist born in Bogotá, Colombia, and raised in Miami, FL. She now resides in Boston, MA, where she obtained her Master of Science in Microbiology from Boston University School of Medicine and currently works as a medical lab professional.

 

Her passion lies at the intersection of art and science. The Illuminated Cell is a portfolio of digital artwork inspired by the captivating world of microscopy, where her abstractions and creativity shine.

María-José has earned recognition for her work titled Ganglion, which was selected by the Photonics Center Art Committee at Boston University to be part of their permanent art collection. She aims to continue her exploration as a visual artist, peering through a microscope lens.
